Abigail Shepard was born into the perfect family with perfect parents and a new baby brother on the way. She had everything a young girl could ask for until a fateful family outing left her an orphan at the tender age of eight. Forced to live with a miserable couple, she quickly learned that all families are not created equal. Two years of misery leads to the news that her foster parents are taking in another child, a boy. She should have been happy to have a foster brother, maybe he could help ease the pain from the loss of the brother she almost had, but the day that Kellan Reynolds walked into her life, things were never to be the same again. The two children hated each other from the moment they met, but soon realized that they both had something in common…the will to survive life with the Filberts. They soon formed a bond and learned to help each other survive life with their foster parents. Growing closer over the years only increases Abby’s misery when Kellan leaves for college. Having found a strong bond, she grows to love him more and more each day. Kellan has no idea his ‘little’ foster sister is all grown up when he returns to visit after two years. Having been in love with Kellan for years, Abby does her best to win Kellan’s heart, but he fights the emotions he never thought he’d feel for her until she gives him an ultimatum…

This author never fails in keeping me intrigued. I can't ever put her books down. Not only do they have incredible substance, but they are true to life in both good and bad times. This book is one of her best and I can't wait for the next one.

UNRELATED UNRELATED SERIES Book 1 eBook Kimberly Schwartzmiller Marsha Vogel Reviews

I enjoyed this very much and am anxious to start the next one! The characters are very believable. Have read all of Kimberly's books?
and wouldn't let go. Evil foster parents. Young foster girl and older foster boy... protect each other. As he comes back as an adult, he realizes he actually loves his foster sister more than just the care-taking that he tried to do when they lived with the foster parents. No blood relationship between them, of course.

Little foster sister loves him, too.

There is a lot of humor as they keep missing connections, plus she is still jail-bait age.
True to real life descriptions of how some foster children try to "make do" as long as they can ... even with bad foster parents.
This book was surprisingly interesting with the odd laugh and humor thrown in, too. I enjoyed it.

I think I caught a rare typo or two, but this book is well worth the read. )
