Ashlynn has serious issues and does not let anyone in. Cooper just wants a calm, quiet life after seeing the dregs of society win more often than they should. The odds of finding someone who wants a quiet, country life don't seem great to Cooper until he meets Ashlynn. Went through EVERY emotion while reading this book.....at one point, thought my heart was going to stop! Can't wait to see what author comes out with in future, with first book being this amazing!

This was a wonderful book! I love that the setting is in Texas! I can't wait to start the next book in the series tonight.
I really enjoyed this story however, I will say that the punctuation put this book at a 4. The sentences were very short, which made the story seem really choppy. I seriously felt as though I was just reading periods. Kind of made it seem written at the high school level and I just couldn't get over it. I kept focusing on how short the sentences were and now I kept reading and stopping more; it didn't seem fluid. Anyway, that point aside, really good story.
When Ashley meets Cooper on the plane there is an instant attraction. Deciding to act on the attraction when she sees him next door to her hotel room, they have a marvelous night together. Never expecting to see him again, she buries her mothers ashes and returns home only bump into him the next week at a bar with her girlfriends. Cooper is not the only person that finds her that night, a dark shadow from her past has caught up with her and is willing to do anything to keep them apart. Can Cooper prove his love to her and her friends before it's too late? Can he save her from a past that refuses to leave her alone? I really enjoyed this down to earth book and hope to read about Ashley's friends stories in the future.
